About

The Cricket is a biweekly publication produced by the students of Grier School in Birmingham, Pennsylvania. The Grier newspaper has over 125 years of history and has been in circulation on and off since at least 1899.
The Cricket is supervised by Dr. Katie Boudreau who reestablished the Cricket in conjunction with a passionate group of students after it had gone out of publication for a while . The inaugural issue of the newly reestablished Cricket, published in December 2024, marks the first digital edition of the school newspaper in its long history.
The 2024-25 Cricket team is led by co-Editors-in-Chiefs, Quinn Stewart, ’25 and Sara Vélez Patiño, ’25. Section editors include senior Olivia Alicea and junior Megan Magrans. Elinor Elisa Caviedes Haig, ’25 acts as the managing editor. Design is directed by the photo editor, Ariana Carrasco, ’25 and layout editor, Gia McIntyre, ’26.
The Cricket acts as a voice for the Grier community and a spotlight to shine on our talented student body. We hope to grow this program into an institution at Grier and strive to make the Cricket a publication that keeps our community connected.
